Ruined. How will we survive? My group has no idea how we will pull through these hard times!

Are you feeling like if your group was a ship it would be called the Titanic? Let’s go back to why you began and to the things that drove you or your community to establish your group. With your head down in the engine room you steamed ahead to fill the need you found. Over time, it was easy to become caught up with the things that needed doing, but now nobody knows how to keep the whole thing afloat. Board and committee members from all kinds of groups ask me what they should do next.

I always have to ask them, “What has changed? …and what has not changed”

On that first day you decided to get together with others with a common purpose, did you know what to do next? The answer becomes clear if you know the right questions to ask.

I offer a plan that is simple (yet not always easy) and designed to step you through the process of rediscovering the driving force of your group and getting your ship back on course to do what it was meant to do. You can put your purpose back at the centre of your work or you can redefine it, to best serve your contemporary society.

It is a great relief to find someone to walk through this important experience with you.

The common story I hear is that dealing with change in the real world is harder than they thought. I can help you with that in a guided process that begins with setting a meeting to explore your needs.

  • A questionnaire to get you started and all talking about the same things.
  • A facilitated workshop for you and your board or committee, that will help you to combine your strengths towards a common goal and begin a new journey, together.
  • Support for your design thinking process and links to other organisations to support your ongoing development (often for free)
